Water Polo

Waterpolo is a CAS Summer sport now played by all 6 member schools and joined by several GPS school to form a a combined CAS/GPS competition during term 4 then in to term 1.

CAS boys also have a chance to represent the CIS via trials in term 4 and then go on to NSW and Australian representation.

Volleyball (Summer)

CAS Summer Volleyball competition is played in term 4 then in to Term 1 of the school calendar.

5 CAS schools play competition each Saturday to the draw of the CAS Summer competition.

Boys may nominate to trial for CIS selection on the AIS website. Please see the school Sportsmaster for more information and dates for this pathway.

Tennis (Summer)

CAS Summer Tennis competition is the premier Tennis competition in the CAS calendar. The competition comprises 10 weeks of Home & Away competition during term 4 then term 1 of the school calendar.

Boys also have the opportunity to play some representative Tennis. A CAS Opens squad plays ISA & GPS at the end of term 1.

CAS boys are also nominated to trial for CIS squads. For more information refer to CIS website Click here

Swimming

Congratulations to Knox Grammar School wining the 93rd CAS Swim Championships in 2024. There was some terrific racing with 10 new CAS records in total and all of these are listed in the records section.

Chess

The CAS Chess competition is a 5 match season played in term 1 of the school calendar. Games are organised by the school MIC and played on a Friday afternoon.

The draw runs in line with that of the CAS Summer sport draw with the school names first as the host school.

Diving

The CAS Diving season comprises Invitationals in term 4, and then another  in term 1 of the school calendar.

The CAS Diving Championships are held on same date as CAS Swimming Championships at SOPAC Homebush Bay. There are 3 age groups Junior, Intermediate and Seniors. All age groups are awarded points based on final placings of individuals resulting in an overall winner of the Steven Barnett Shield.

A CAS team is also selected to trial for CIS team based on performances at the CAS Championships. See Sportsmaster or MIC for more details on these selections.

Cricket

The CAS 1st XI Cricket competition comprises a combination of 2 day and 1 day cricket. All 2-day games are played in term 4, and then five 1-day games complete the CAS season in term 1. Winners of the 1st XI competition are awarded the F H Archer Shield.

The Association selects a representative team to compete against representative teams from GPS and ISA. From more detail go to the Representative teams tab.

T 20 –

The 1st XI established a very popular format of the game as a separate competition. It began in Term 4, 2015. Please see the T20 page for results and tables.

Basketball

CAS Basketball is a 2 round, Home & Away ( 10 week ) competition played in the summer. Fixtures are played between Yr 7 – 10 school groups and the Opens age group.

At the conclusion of the competition a CAS representative squad is selected to play fixtures against AICES, ISA and GPS at end of term 1.

CIS trials also take place for representative players in term 2. This is the only pathway for players to NSW schoolboy selection. Any boy wanting to nominate for CIS trials MUST see their MIC or Sportsmaster for nomination details.

CAS has traditionally been a very strong Basketball competition and boasts an outstanding record against other Associations in representative fixtures.
